It is expected that Kvaratskhelia, the Napoli striker, will sign a contract with the club to stay until the summer of 2028.

European elite clubs are currently interested in signing the Georgian in the next transfer period, and his performance with the Serie A leaders Napoli has impressed the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Kvaratskhelia has scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists in 30 matches in the local Italian league and the Champions League so far this season, a fantastic return for the 22-year-old player that has caught the attention of major clubs across Europe.

Napoli has no intention of selling him, especially with the increasing possibility of Victor Osimhen leaving in the summer. As a result, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis hopes to extend Kvaratskhelia’s deal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium for another year, keeping him in the club until 2028.

According to French publication Footmercato (opens in new tab), Kvaratskhelia is expected to sign a deal that will more than double his salary at the club, although it will still only be around €80,000 per week including bonuses.

Napoli has previously stated that they will only accept bids in the nine-digit range, which will inevitably increase further if a new contract is signed. He was signed from Dinamo Batumi for €15 million less than a year ago, and Napoli can still make a big profit on Kvaratskhelia in future transfer windows.

After playing 27 matches in the Italian league, Napoli is 19 points ahead of Lazio in second place, meaning they could clinch the title with games to spare. They will face Milan in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the coming weeks, with the winner facing either Inter Milan or Benfica in the semi-finals.

Napoli will therefore imagine their chances of reaching the Champions League final, a prize that the club has never won – not even in Maradona’s glory days.
