Officials of Zamalek are getting closer to finalizing the contract with the new coach within hours after the board agreed on two foreign coaches, one of whom will be contracted to lead the white knight.

According to an informed source within Zamalek, the closest until now to lead Zamalek is the German, Haiko Herrlich. “Ahly Masr” reported yesterday that Haiko Herrlich and the Belgian, Janick Fiedler, are among the closest to taking over the technical leadership of the Zamalek club.

The source also indicated that the Zamalek officials have settled on keeping Hussien Yasser Al-Mohammadi, the current assistant coach, in his position as the head coach’s assistant, with his position being a general coach.

The source also mentioned that there is almost an agreement on the name of the team’s director of football in the new technical staff, after studying more than one name and biography of the Zamalek old players. However, the Zamalek board tends to entrust the task to Nader El-Sayed, as the director of football in the new coach’s staff.

Mortada Mansour, the club’s president, confirmed that the new coach may come with a foreign goalkeeping coach. However, the new coach’s foreign assistant staff is not complete, as the new coach has not trained any team since 2021. This may lead to assigning the task of training the goalkeepers to Abdelwahed El Sayed, the former Zamalek goalkeeper, if the new coach fails to agree with a foreign goalkeeping coach.

Seif El-Gazarri Absent from Zamalek’s Training for the Second Day

The Tunisian, Seif El-Din El-Gazarri, the striker of Zamalek, was absent from the team’s group training yesterday, Saturday, after the end of the break he spent in Tunisia.
